Dan Harris is a Lecturer in the Department of Statistics at NC State. In addition to his position on the NC State faculty, Dan works as a Senior Strategist with Mayo Clinic and teaches within the Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare program in the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Science. Dan’s prior experience includes over 30 years in technology, business development, strategy, and executive management roles with Corning Incorporated and as a private consultant as well as an appointment as Adjunct Associate Teaching Professor in the School of Business at Wake Forest University.
Dr. Harris’s primary expertise lies in applying analytical methods to solve business and engineering problems. His range of experience includes the use of advanced analytics for market analysis, product definition, forecasting, as well as commercial, operational, and corporate growth strategies; simulation techniques applied to risk analysis and optimization; and statistical methods and design of experiments to improve manufacturing and engineering processes.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech, and he received MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering as well as a Master of Statistics degree from NC State.
